Uruguay vs Ghana!

Montevideo is mad with World Cup fever - a partial public holiday has been declared today - we think the schools are closed - the streets are crazy with revellers - and the game hasn´t started yet.  It is due to start in about 5 mins.  The main square and surrounding streets are full of people - there is a large screen in the middle of the square.  It is close to our hotel so we can hear the cheering and horns and what sounds like fire crackers.  We have just returned to the hotel to watch the game - we walked through the main square - almost a frenzy!  The cafes and restaurants which have TVs are full of people and most of the other shops have closed.  Wow!  South Amercia is mad with Cup fever - Paraguay, Brazil, Argentina and Uruguay are all in the quarter finals.

The Inca Trail was amazing and so good to experience - it was hard work!

Tomorrow we go to Punta del Este for the conference - it starts on the evening of the 4th.

June 30 - Montevideo, Uruguay

July 1 - fresh food market in Montevideo

July 2 - Graffiti on the Montevideo waterfront
